Rovers made it two wins in a row as they beat Yeovil Town comortably at Prenton Park. Calvin Zola and a Jennison Myrie-Williams penalty earned the three points, that put Rovers back in the hunt for a play off place. Rovers started with the same team that beat Millwall and come out on top of a Yeovil side that finished the game with 10 men. A crucial home game against Gillingham is up next.
A scrappy affair but we got what was important - the three points. We deserved it I thought as we created the better of the chances but at times they threatened yet couldn't create enough chances.
Defending was indifferent at times for us. Stockdale had a good game but Goodison put in an inconsistent display, missing a key header which eventually led to their goal whilst he also put in some good tackles at other times.
Our midfield was strong and even Sherriff looked ok on the wing, although I still don't like him! Myrie-Williams was superb whilst my man of the match, Jennings, was immense. In the second half especially he was terrific. He made so many key tackles and got forward really well - 'keeper made a great save from his free-kick too.
Zola was only just second to Jennings though, a brilliant display from him whilst Gareth Taylor grew through out the game, and in the last 20 minutes he won some good headers and played some superb lay-offs.
That win and a further three points against Gillingham puts us right back up there.
