Previous clubs: Bury, Gainsborough (loan), Macclesfield

Costing £50,000, Danny was one of the few players Dons spent a fee on in the summer of 2007, but he more than repaid that with a debut campaign that saw him named in the League Two Team of the Season.

Aerially superb at both ends of the pitch, and a very accomplished reader of the game, Danny also possesses the rare skill at this level of being able to bring the ball out of defence with some quality.

His partnership with Sean O'Hanlon at the heart of the Dons defence was the foundation upon which Paul Ince built his title winning side. And new manager Roberto Di Matteo indicated that he would remain a key player when Danny was maybe rushed back from injury at the start of the season, and unfortunately continued problems with his achilles have ruled him out for most of the 2008/09 campaign.
