Northampton Town's fans' board representative Anthony Collett will stage his usual one-man anti-Franchise protest at Tuesday night's game between Northampton and the Dons.

Why Mr Collett feels the need to let us all know of his plans for the second time this season, after he refused to sit in the same boardroom as Dons chairman Pete Winkelman at the reverse fixture in Milton Keynes, we're unsure, but who can begrudge a man like Mr Collett a rare moment in the spotlight.

Speaking to the Northampton Chronicle, Mr Collett said:

"I will attend the game to support my team but I will boycott the boardroom. I don't want to share a room with Pete Winkelman. He has moved a club out of its community and destroyed everything that club stood for.

"As we go through generations I'm sure things will eventually be forgotten but it is not right and my feelings on that will never change."

Interestingly Mr Collett put our recent success down to a "novelty factor" - maybe I'm a silly plastic fan but I didn't understand this - once we get a proper "history", does that mean the end of any possible chance of doing well?

Maybe he was talking about attendance figures, on which he commented:

"A lot of the people that go the games don't actually care about the club, they are just fans of Premier League clubs going to watch a game in their home town."

Basically, he rants on about anything we've got which Northampton haven't.

Maybe I'm biased but the Chronicle itself seems to present Mr Collett as a bit of a laughing stock. I have full respect for those who choose not to attend Dons games against their team, and I understand their reasoning, but when a moron like this attempts to make a big thing of himself it really does get quite sad.
