Dons midfielder Peter Leven is looking forward to Saturday's clash with top of the table Leicester City, but says the fixtures waiting for them in March will have a far greater impact on the promotion push.

Leven is relishing the busy four weeks to come, with eight games played during the month, saying he would much rather play than train during the week. 

He told the official website: "To be quite honest, it's probably better to be playing games in midweek than training. The games are coming thick and fast so we won't be training as much as we normally do and if you ask any footballer, they'd rather play games than train. It's a spell for us to look forward to."

The midfielder couldn't help but be pulled into the excitement surrounding the game however, but maintained the fixture isn't the be all and end all of the Dons' season.

"This is one of the games you look for when the fixtures come out at the start of the season and it looks even better now because it's the top two teams in the division. It's going to feel like a cup final.

"Obviously we'll be looking for three points against them, but there are a lot of games to play in March so whatever happens on Saturday won't make too much of a difference. I think March will be the crucial month anyway."

And Leven is confident that the loss at the Walkers Stadium on the opening day of the season won't have a negative impact on the Dons players on Saturday.

"I think there were a lot of first day nerves when we played them earlier in the season at the Walkers Stadium.

"I've watched them a few times and they're a very good team, but on our day we can beat anybody."
