Geovanni gives Hull hope

Hull took on Man Utd looking to bounce back from the midweek 3-0 home defeat against Chelsea. Man Utd are in great form and went into the game looking to extend their 10 game unbeated run. who would come out of top at Old Trafford? Things Didn't start well for Hull just like on Wednesday their were behind after just 3 minutes. Cristiano Ronaldo scoring from outside the area into the bottom corner.

The game then went quiet for the next 18 minutes with few chances. Wayne Rooney having the best but he fired over. Hull got a Equaliser  on 22 minutes. A free kick whipped in by Andy Dawson and Daniel Cousin rose to head the ball past Van Der Sar. 7 minutes later and manchester United regained the lead Michael Carrick Scored with a fantastic goal from just inside the penalty area into the bottom corner of the goal.

United looked to play on the counter and were catching Hull out Time after time. This time Ronlado making Myhill Pull of a save to snuff out any danger. 5 minutes before half time United had the ball in the net again but it was ruled out for offside. A minute later United had another chance Rooney free at the back post but he put his header wide. Before Half time United did get their 3rd, Ronaldo headed past myhill from a Nani Corner.

The second half started in the same way with United creating more chances Berbatov firing just wide on 50 minutes. Hull never looked like crumbling in the second half but were lucky not to be further down when Ronaldo fired wide after Berbatov squared the ball.United got their fourth goal when Rooney Delivered the ball into the box and Vidic steered the ball passed Myhill. 4-1 and seemingly game over.


 Hull still wouldn't give up and their 1st corner produced an easy save for Van Der Sar. Hull Pulled 1 back when Evra tried to head the ball back to Van Der Sar but substitute Mendy Got there first and lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper. The Goal Made Hull come to life even more.  United still had chances though and Rooney hit a half Volley which was saved brilliantly by Myhill.

Hull got a penalty on 80 minutes when Rio Ferdinand hauled down Mendy in the box.Geovanni Stepped up and Put the ball into the left hand corner, Van Der Sar went the right way but couldn't save it. That was to be the last real action of the game as Hull pressed forward their couldn't create any chances. Full Time Manchester United 4-3 Hull City. Great game and Hull can take positives from the game though it is now 2 defeats from 2. United extend their unbeaten run to 11 games in all competitions and are now up to 3rd. Hull drop to 6th.
