Hull went into the game at the hawthorns looking for their fourth straight win and their fourth straight away win. West Brom went into the game having won 2 and lost 2 of their 4 home games this season. would The Tigers get their fourth straight win? or could West Brom Do what Both Arsenal and Tottenham couldn't do and beat Hull at Home.
Hull started the Game brightly and had the 1st real chance of the afternoon when Geovanni latched onto Marlon King's header but for once,
he couldn't connect with the shot and it bounced through to Scott Carson. After the Early chance for Hull West Brom began to take control. Ishmael Miller had a shot from a free-kick but it looped off a defender and landed in the arms of Boaz Myhill. Boaz Myhill then was called upon when he parried Borja Valero's shot straight to Jonas Olsson, who
headed onto the bar. Roman Bednar's scuffed shot from the follow-up was then scrambled wide of the post.
The West Brom pressure countinued, Ishmael Miller chested the ball down brilliantly in the box and was about
to pull the trigger when Kamil Zayatte slid in to nick the ball away.Hull then Came back into the game Marlon King screwing a shot across goal. Then Dean Marney's shot taking a slight deflection, then an almighty one, and
West Brom were a bit lucky to see it go behind for a corner. From the
set-piece, Ian Ashbee volleyed narrowly wide from 12 yards. Nearly Half an hour played and Geovanni didn't have his shooting boots on for once as he shot over.
Hull were still creating chances and defender Kamil Zayatte lost his marker in the box, but he flashed the header wide from a corner. As the half wore on only West Brom could fashion any chances 1st Miler ran down the right but his scuffed shot went wide after a slight touch from Boaz Myhill. Miller had another chance when he cut in from the right but his weak shot dribbled through Myhil. Half Time West Brom 0 Hull 0.
West Brom boss Tony Mowbray:
"We created enough chances to put the game to bed in the opening half.
"There was lots of decent play in between the boxes but we have to improve in both boxes.
"We cannot continue to miss chances when they come along.
"I think the 3-0 scoreline was harsh but we have the ability to bounce back from negative results."
Hull boss Phil Brown:
"We rode our luck in the first 15 minutes and that happens when you are flying high.
"In the last 15 minutes before the break we started to get our game together.
"It is our third clean sheet on the bounce and that give us the foundation to win games.
"We have had a dream start with 20 points and if we repeat that in the next 10 games then I will be a happy man."
