Hull took on West Ham looking for their 4th win over a London club this season.Having already beaten Fulham,Arsenal and Tottenham.The Tigers went into the game unbeaten in the whole of September. Would October start as well as September ended?. West Ham went to the KC in good form them selves under Gianfranco Zola. although their were disappointing in their last home game.

West Ham started the game brightly with alot of early possession but for all their possession their couldn't create a chance. Hull were also having some decent possession and getting plenty of crosses into the box. The 1st chance of the match didn't arrive until the 13th minute when a McShane cross was tamely headed towards goal by cousin, it was easy for Green to gather.

West Ham's 1st chance of the day came when Craig Bellamy broke down the right,got the ball into the box for Carlton Cole to shoot.His shot ended up going straight at Myhill. The strangest moment of the afternoon came when Ilunga took the ball from off Myhills hand. when the goalkeeper was trying to clear and then bicycle kicked it into the net. Goal Disallowed obviously, something to to with Fifa law!The incident ended up with Ilunga getting booked.

Another Funny Moment of the afternoon was when Phil Brown was having trouble with his earpiece. Troubles which seemed to anger the Tigers boss. Anyway back to the action and Dean Marney had 2 efforts both of which failed to find the target. West Ham had a slight appeal for a penalty when Noble was brought down by marney however the referee played on. From the corner which soon followed Ilunga had a header which went 6 yards wide, he should really have scored.

Both sides continued to make chances. Behrami had a shot which went 5 yards wide of Myhills post.Boateng had a shot from 25 yards which was closer to the corner flag. Just before Half Time Bellamy Had the best chance of the half. After Carlton Cole headed the ball down for him but he blazed over from 6 yards out. Half time and West Ham just shading it in terms of possession and chances.

The second half started with Hull having most of the early chances. George Boateng with a 25 yard shot which was easily saved by Green. Marlon King also had a chance, a volley which he fired wide. On 51 minutes the bright start to the second half resulted in Hull getting the Breakthrough. when a Andy Dawson Corner was headed in by Michael Turner. That was followed by another Geovanni shot from the Restart but his shot from 18 yards went wide.West Ham came close to an equalizer when Carlton Cole hit the Crossbar.Like Ilunga in the 1st half he really should have scored.

Hull seemed to grow in Confidence after their had taken the lead, Zayatte ran from the half way line to the edge of the West Ham box but he couldn't manage to get his shot on target.West Ham hit back however, Parker having a left footed shot just wide and Etherington also firing wide after been picked out by Cole. Hull did have the ball in the net for a second time although it was disallowed.Dean Marney Handling it, also he appeared to be offside.

On 73 minutes both side made subsistutions this appread to make the game slightly disjointed and it took a while for it to regain any flow. As the game enter the last 10 minutes West Ham started to pile on the pressure, but where unable to create anything of note.Astime ran down a round of ole's were sang by the Hull fans as their team played some nice passing football the tun the clock down. The game ended 1-0 to Hull another great result for Phil Brown's man. West Ham will fell their deserved a point if not all 3. The result means Hull remain in 3rd. West ham are now 8th

Hull boss Phil Brown:
"I thought the first half performance was one of a two-week break - we looked a bit rusty.

"At times we gave the ball away too cheaply and West Ham caused us problems because of it.

"But defensively we were bang at it again. That's three wins on the bounce and two clean sheets. We have conceded one goal in three games against quality opposition."

West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola:
"It's very hard to take. I don't think that we deserved to lose but sometimes football is like that.

"We missed two very good chances. It very difficult to accept but we have to think to the next game.

"We didn't deserve to concede a goal but Turner made a great jump."
