Geovanni at it again

Hull went to North London for the second time in 8 days and again returned with all 3 points against the odds. This time beating Tottenham 1-0. The result now moves Hull up to 3rd. While Tottenham remain rooted to the bottom of the table without a league win so far this season.

Hull started the game brightly and within 4 minutes Geovanni was finding his range, firing over from 8 yards out. 4 minutes later Hull did get the lead Geovanni stepped up and struck the ball into gomes' top corner from 30 yards. After the goal Tottenham woke up and started to attack Hull without creating any clear cut chances. Tottenham's best chance came on 22 minutes when a Gareth Bale free kick was tipped onto the bar by Myhill. On 24 minutes Tottenham had a shout for a penalty. However the foul did look outside the box and the referee waved away the appeals.

As the half wore on both sides were creating chances. Spurs going close when Campbell had a shot which in the end was easily saved by myhill. On 30 minutes the unlucky Pavlyuchenko was replaced by Darren Bent, Pavlyuchenko looked to be carrying an injury. Dean marney had a shot from 18 yards which hit the post on 35 minutes. 5 minutes before half time Jonathan Woodgate had a volley which smashed off the crossbar. Spurs again coming close, but for all their possession, free kicks and corners couldn't find an equalizer.


Into the second half and Spurs came out determined to get an equalizer, committing men forward. Hull seemed happy to play on the break. Tottenham kept getting in crosses but Zayatte seemed to be heading everything away.On 57 minutes Darren Bent was put though by Modric , he beat the offside trap but couldn't beat the goalkeeper as he sent his shot wide. More and more crosses were coming into the box, but the Hull defence were dealing with it almost at ease.

As Full time neared Tottenham players began to get frustrated with Lennon, Bent and Campbell all getting booked for silly fouls. In the final 10 minutes it was only Tottenham who were having chances. 1st Modric had a chance which he blazed over, Zokora had a free kick straight at Myhill and Spurs even had a second appeal for a penalty when Boateng Challenged with Campbell. Again the referee waved away the appeals, a decision which looks to be correct as Boateng did get the ball. 

4 minutes of injury time were added but Spurs looked to have ran out of ideas. In the final seconds Bale had another free kick which he blazed high and wide. Hull had again gone to North London and returned with all 3 points . The result however could mean the end of Ramos' reign at White Hart Lane.
