George Boateng and Anthony Gardner are expected to return. New loan signings Kamil Zayatte and Paul McShane are in contention, but Daniel Cousin is suspended. Hull manager Phil Brown is looking forward to the game "It's important that we get the Wigan result out of the minds. We want to make sure that the focus and mentality is more like the first two games as opposed to the 5-0 defeat.

"We've had a couple of weeks to work at things and we got the negatives out of the way straight away.

"It was obvious to me that the omission of Marlon King, George Boateng and Anthony Gardner in particular was one of the reasons why we played the way we did."

Newcastle are likely to be without Habib Beye and Jonas Gutierrez .Also out are Obafemi Martins, Mark Viduka and Damien Duff.

Hull City (from): Myhill, Ricketts, Turner, Gardner, Dawson, Garcia, Ashbee, Barmby, Geovanni, Fagan, Halmosi, Folan, King, Windass, Mendy, Marney, Duke, Brown, Boateng, Zayatte, McShane.

Nick BARMBY needs a hat-trick to reach 100 club career goals.

Dean WINDASS is a hat-trick shy of 200 goals in English and Scottish league football.

If selected:-

Wayne BROWN will be making his 50th appearance in a Hull shirt.

Ryan KENDALL will be playing on the eve of his 20th birthday.

If on the field from the outset:-

Marlon KING will be making his 250th career league start (Barnet, Gillingham, Nottingham Forest, Leeds, Watford, Wigan and Hull).

Dean MARNEY will be making his 100th club career start (Tottenham, Swindon, QPR, Gillingham, Norwich and Hull).
