Everton have signed Lokomotiv Moscow skipper Diniyar Bilyaletdinov on a five-year deal, both clubs announced on their official websites on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old midifelder, who has been with Lokomotiv since 2004, signed a deal late on Monday in Hamburg, where he had undergone a medical examination.
No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
Bilyaletdinov won the Russian league title with Lokomotiv in 2004. He played in all Russia's matches at Euro 2008 where they reached the semi-finals.
"We are delighted to have secured the services of Diniyar," Everton chief executive Robert Elstone told the club's website.
"I know David Moyes has wanted to bring him to Goodison for some time and we look forward to welcoming him.
"Bilyaletdinov will not be eligible for Thursday's Europa League play-off second leg against Sigma Olomouc and is unlikely to be in England for Sunday's Premier League clash with Wigan.
