Sunderland have signed 'The Bear', Titus Bramble, from Wigan for a fee reported to be around £1million. Steve Bruce is delighted with the transfer, stating: "We've got a great deal!".

Also saying Titus Bramble is a "marvellous acquisition" for Sunderland.
 
Bruce worked with Bramble at Wigan and the pair helped the Lancashire club to great success, with the Bramble playing a key role.
 
Bruce revealed he's "delighted" for the fee paid for the player, who has joined the Black Cats at their training camp in Portugal.
 
And he says Bramble can be a key cog for Sunderland having decided to come back to the north east following an earlier spell at Newcastle, from where he was signed by Bruce.
 
"I'm delighted we've been able to get him and for the price we've paid it's a terrific piece of business," the manager explained.
 
"From the outset Titus wanted to come back to the north east. I had the privilege of working with him at Wigan.
 
"He's a great age; he's matured a lot. He had a lot of pressure put on him very early when he went from Ipswich for big money as a kid.
 
"I had no hesitation in bringing Titus here - he will be a marvellous acquisition."
Bruce added: "Titus is big and strong, very powerful with two decent feet. I know what he's all about and what makes him tick having worked with him before.
 
"The price we've paid is terrific value in today's market."
 
"The big thing for me was that he actually wanted to come," Bruce explained.
 
"He could easily have said 'I don't want to come back to the north east' and just stayed at Wigan.
 
"But he wants to come here and play.
 
"For me, he's at the right time in his career now. He was the official player of the year once for me at Wigan but I can easily say it should have been twice.
 
"He was terrific for me - and he can do it again."
