Khalilou Fadiga and Kevin Davies both require an appointment with the clubs medical team after withdrawing from this afternoon's local derby against Wigan Athletic. For Davies the ankle problem he picked up may mean a fortnight out of action but Fadiga's early exit from the play at the Reebok Stadium this afternoon has uncovered something which is sadly far worse.

The 31-year old picked the ball up in his own half during the first half and attempted to play the ball from right to left with his left foot only to collapse on the floor in a heap.

He was immediately stretchered off and medical scans have since shown a ruptured tendon in his knee which is likely to keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce told the official website that the injury had come as a massive blow to the team.

"I'm very disappointed for Khali. He was controlling the game up to that point and to lose him for the rest of the season is a massive blow." said Allardyce
