French winger Fabrice Fernandes will be allowed to leave Bolton Wanderers in the transfer window if a club comes in for his services. The former Southampton and Fulham midfielder has not made the expected impact at the Reebok Stadium and is now hoping to move elsewhere in the hope of more regular first team football.

Fernandes made a bright start to his Bolton career when coming off the substitutes bench in the clubs first ever UEFA Cup game against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in September but his appearances in the team since then have been less convincing.

Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce confirmed that the 26-year old wanted a fresh start away from the club despite signing a twelve month contract only five months ago.

"Fabrice Fernandes wants to leave the Club. He is available in this transfer period and we'll see if we can move him on." said Allardyce to the official website

Championship side Leeds United wanted to take Fernandes on loan back in the Autumn but the players agent stated that his client preferred to stay with Bolton and fight for his place in the team.
