County Swoop For Howarth

League Two strugglers Stockport County have signed Bolton Wanderers reserve keeper Chris Howarth on a months loan and he becomes manager Jim Gannon's first signing since taking temporary control last month. The former England youth international will provide competition for James Spencer in his stint at Edgeley Park and will go straight into the Hatters team for their Lancashire derby with Rochdale at the weekend.

Howarth has been at Bolton since the age of 12 and was recently on the Wanderers bench for the game against Leicester City in the Carling Cup but the more experienced Jussi Jaaskelainen, Ian Walker and Ali Al-Habsi are in front of him in the pecking order at the Reebok Stadium.
