Former Bolton Wanderers captain Mark Came has taken over as the new manager of struggling Coors Mid-Cheshire league side Barnton.. Came made just under 200 appearances for the Wanderers in eight years but a badly broken leg in 1988 meant that he was unable to savour Bolton's Sherpa Van Trophy Final success over Torquay United in May 1989.

Bruce Rioch sold the experienced centre half to Chester City shortly after his arrival as manager at Burnden Park and Came later went on to captain City and his hometown club Exeter before retiring from the full time game in 1996.

He later returned to his first club Winsford United and had a short spell in the managerial hot seat there but it is his 22-year old son Shaun who now takes up most of the limelight as he recently left league football having played for Macclesfield Town.

After a spell at cup heroes Northwich Victoria, Came Junior recently accepted an invite to work alongside his father at new club Barnton where they will both hope to reverse the fortunes of the club, on and off the pitch.
