El-Hadji Diouf managed to put a few weeks of off the field drama behind him as the Walking Down The Manny Road readers decided that the Senegal star was Bolton Wanderers best player in December. Diouf is currently on African Nations Cup duty with his country but his performances at club level notably in the games against Arsenal and Wigan Athletic have earned him your praise.

The former Liverpool star beat off competition from joint runners up Abdoulaye Diagne-Faye and Stelios Giannakopoulos both of whom have been regular starters over the last month.

Highly rated goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen came in third place.
