Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has reacted angrily to recent speculation which has linked him to the Newcastle United hot seat. Reports from the North East claimed that the Trotters cheif would be favourite to take over on Tyneside as the Magpies board where vastly losing patience with current Newcastle manager Graeme Souness.

However Allardyce, linked with the same job a year ago, has blasted the talk outright and says that he does not appreciate being linked to a managerial role when there is already another manager in charge.

"I just don't like having my name linked to a club where another manager is in a job, It's unfair on me, unfair on this club and unfair on Graeme Souness. It just adds to the pressures." he told the Bolton Evening News

"You can't stop speculation when there is a vacancy, but speculation before anything has happened is completely out of order."

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Souness left the Wanderers Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers to take up the job at Newcastle but opinion amongst the Toon Army faithful has always been divided as to whether the outspoken Scot was the right man to succeed Sir Bobby Robson.
