Experienced european campaigner Bruno N'Gotty says that Bolton Wanderers are creating modern history as they continue to progress in the UEFA Cup. N'Gotty scored his first Wanderers goal in nearly two years on Wednesday night to earn Bolton the point that they needed to qualify for the next stage of the competition and now the long serving Frenchman says that his achievements with the club this term even eclipse those he spent with some of his previous employers in Europe.

"We are creating modern history," said the former Milan and PSG star

"I have played in Europe on numerous occasions and achieved great successes, but this spell is just as special. When I joined Bolton four years ago it was an ambition of mine to play in a major competition against European opposition. I am now doing that and I want more. We are getting better every year and a Champions League place is now a possibility.

The 34-year old has predicted that the club will get stronger in years to come and says that a place in the latter stages of this season's UEFA Cup is just the tip of the iceberg.

"This club has made great strides in recent times and, even though plenty has been achieved, there is still some unfinished business here. There is a lot of hard work still to be done to be a consistent threat in the Premiership and Europe for many years to come.

"We can go from strength to strength, and there is no reason why we can't be pushing for a place in the latter stages."

Bolton were drawn up against N'Gotty's former club Olympique Marseille on Friday lunchtime following the draw for the final 32 team which took place in Nyon in Switzerland.
