Kevin Nolan has been named as the Walking Down The Manny Road player of the month for September after you the readers decided in a recent online poll. Nolan scored a stunning goal in the home victory against Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago and was to follow that up with an equally important goal in the same week against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in Bulgaria.

Japanese star Hidetoshi Nakata was the runner up according to the voters and this just shows how quickly the on-loan playmaker is fast becoming a favourite at the Reebok Stadium.

Goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen came in third place and remained an ever present in the league throughout the last month. His top drawer save in the last game against Wigan Athletic proving why he is so highly rated in the top flight.
