Veteran goalkeeper Kevin Poole has finally found himself a new club having been released by Bolton Wanderers at the end of last season.
The 41-year old custodian has linked up with Championship side Derby County, who are now managed by former Trotters assistant manager Phil Brown.
Poole will provide cover for regular keepers Lee Camp and Lee Grant whilst also taking on some coaching responsibilities.
Brown was happy to have recruited the former Birmingham City and Leicester City player onto his staff following the departure of goalkeeping coach Malcolm Webster earlier this month.
"I worked with Kevin for four years at Bolton and I know that he'll be a real asset on the training ground, He's worked alongside our former goalkeeping coach, Malcolm Webster, so he'll be applying the same techniques and taking a similar approach. He's also useful to have around as back-up for the two Lees but it's his coaching skills I'll be calling on. I like his attitude and his coaching philosophy.
"Camp and Grant have had five coaches in as many years and that is not a healthy situation.
"They're talented keepers who need stability to progress and I am convinced Kevin can continue the good work already done with the lads and take them even further."
Poole made five league appearances for Bolton in his four years at the club, the last coming in the home tie against West Bromwich Albion on New Years Day
