Macclesfield Town physiotherapist Paul Lake will link up once again with his former Manchester City team mate Gary Megson at Bolton Wanderers so say reports in today's edition of the Manchester Evening News.

The former England U21 star made 110 appearances for City between 1987 and 1992 after coming through the youth ranks at Maine Road but a serious knee injury forced his premature retirement from the game in 1996.

Manchester-born Lake then moved into the physiotherapy side of the game, opening up his own specialist clinic in Northenden and working at League Two side Macclesfield over a a five year spell.

Now Megson, team mate of Lake for three seasons, has added his ex-collegue to the Wanderers staff as junior physio following the promotion of Youth Academy physio Steve Foster to first team duties last month.

"I'm delighted Paul is joining us, He is an old team-mate of mine and a good friend." said Megson 

"What happened to Paul was one of the saddest things I've seen in football, as he would have been one of the game's top players."

It is not yet known when Lake will take up his new post as he still prepared for Macclesfield's home game against Dagenham & Redbridge at the Moss Rose tommorow afternoon.
