Bolton Wanderers Football club has confirmed that Team Manager Sammy Lee and General Manager Frank McParland have left the club by mutual consent this morning after showdown talks with the club hierarchy over recent days.

Lee took over from previous manager Sam Allardyce back in April of this year but results so far this season have seen the Wanderers embroiled in an early relegation battle.

Reports of player unrest from within the camp, a drastic change of tactics and a public fall out with player/coach Gary Speed did not help matters as Bolton have won just two games all season.

A club statement from Bolton reads:

BOLTON WANDERERS FOOTBALL CLUB, SAMMY LEE AND FRANK MCPARLAND HAVE AGREED TO PART COMPANY BY MUTUAL CONSENT.

BOLTON WANDERERS CHAIRMAN PHIL GARTSIDE STATES "THIS HAS BEEN A DIFFICULT DECISION FOR ALL PARTIES BUT WE HAVE AGREED THAT THE TIME IS RIGHT"

"SAMMY HAS PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE CLUBS RECENT HISTORY. WE WISH SAMMY AND FRANK WELL FOR THE FUTURE"

"OUR EFFORTS WILL NOW BE TO LOOK FOR A REPLACEMENT MANAGER AND TO CONCENTRATE ON THE FUTURE" GARTSIDE ADDED
