Manchester United defender Phil Picken has extended his loan with Chesterfield until the end of the season. The Spireites currently sit 7th in the Football League One table and are looking to mount a promotion challenge. New Page 5

Manchester United have agreed to extent defender Phil Picken's loan spell with League One outfit Chesterfield.

Picken is highly-regarded amongst the coaching staff at Old Trafford, but would be unlikely to challenge for a first-team place this season and thus will spend the rest of the campaign with the Spireites.

The 20-year-old has racked up 8 appearances for Chesterfield who are chasing a play-off place sitting 7th in table. Picken will be hoping to strengthen this challenge and earn himself some much-needed first-team football for the remainder of the season.
