Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has expressed his delight at bouncing back from a broken leg to mark his full Manchester United debut with a goal against Barnet in the Carling Cup.

The 19-year-old striker has been patient in United's reserves over the past few years, biding his time and bagging goals in the second-string but is now happy to have made a senior start.

Ebanks-Blake, who recently suffered a broke leg, said: "The injury was a bad set-back, but I didn't let it get on top of me. I knew I could come back from it and I've proven that. I'm just happy to have made my full debut.

"I now have to keep playing well for the Reserves and take whatever first-team opportunities come my way.

"The Reserves is the team I play for week in, week out. I have to keep playing well for them because that is the way I'll get more first-team opportunities. I'm just going to keep plugging away."
