Richardson Signs New United Deal

Kieran Richardson couldn't have asked for a better birthday present on Friday morning as he was rewarded with a new contract with Manchester United. Ruud van Nistelrooy has reiterated his intentions to stay at Old Trafford despite tempting links to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real


Richardson, who's broken into the United first-team in the absence of Gabriel Heinze, put pen-to-paper on 4-year deal to mark his 21st birthday.

"I am happy to commit my future to Manchester United," revealed the England international. "It's the club where I want to be and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else." 

The former West Ham youngster's contract joins John O'Shea and Darren Fletcher's setting ink in the United boardroom after the duo also signed new contracts earlier this week.
