Ryan Giggs has been impressed by team-mate Giuseppe Rossi during Manchester United's tour of Asia, commenting on how well the Italian has seized his opportunity.

Rossi opened the scoring in the Red Devils' 2-0 win over Hong Kong on the weekend and also impressed on pre-tour friendlies with Clyde and Peterborough.

"We know all about Giuseppe for his goalscoring in the reserves - and he's done it again," said the Welshman, subject of a move to Real Madrid. "You don't get many opportunities when you are young so you need to take them when you get them - he's played three 45 minutes and got three goals.

"You see their touches and ability in training. The next thing is finding out about their temperament in a game.

"But these sort of trips give you a chance. Darren Fletcher came on a trip like this a couple of years ago and has been in the side ever since, so hopefully Giuseppe and one or two others will come through in a similar way."
