Czech defender Tomas Ujfalusi has been linked with a move to Manchester United. The Fiorentina centre-half impressed United scouts with his performances for the Czech Republic during the European Championships.

Manchester United are believed to be interested in bringing Czech defender Tomas Ujfalusi to Old Trafford. With rumours suggesting Sir Alex Ferguson is planning a few changes to his defensive playing staff, well regarded Fiorentina centre-half Ujfalusi is said to have caught the attention of the United boss.

At over 6 foot, the towering defender impressed in the recent European Championships as the Czech Republic reached the semi-finals before their campaign was derailed by eventual winners Greece. The Red Devils are believed to have first noticed Ujfalusi during the tournament in Portugal.

He started his career off in his native country with Sigma Olomouc, before he moved onto Banik Ostrava until 2000. Ujfalusi then signed for Hamburg where he made a name for himself on the European stage with consistent and impressive performances that persuaded Fiorentina to snap up the defender.

United are not interested in making a move for Ujfalusi in the upcoming January transfer window. However, it is believed Ferguson will continue to scout the defender and could launch a bid for him next summer should he continue to progress. with a mass clearout of players predicted at the Theatre of Dreams.
