Scolari Linked With Old Trafford Switch

Real Madrid winger Santiago Solari has been tipped to move to Manchester United in the summer from Spain as United boss Sir Alex Ferguson sees him as a potential replacement for Welshman Ryan Giggs, according to reports.

The Argentinean winger, 28, has been previously linked with a move to Old Trafford but Solari's place in the Real Madrid squad has always been temporary so he may look elsewhere for first team football, possibly at United.

The Red Devils' assistant manager Carlos Queiroz spent a season with Solari at the Bernabeu and highly recommends the left-winger.

All this speculation comes after Sir Alex Ferguson's reluctance to start Ryan Giggs or play him for the full 90 minutes in a match. Giggs had yet to start a game in November prior to yesterday's 2-0 victory over Charlton Athletic, in which Giggs netted.
