Manchester United youngsters fell at the final post in Hong Kong and lost to fellow Premiership club Aston Villa in the final of the annual 7s Tournament held in the Asian country. Hong Kong 7s Tournament Review Part 2
Manchester United youngsters fell at the final post in Hong Kong and lost to fellow Premiership club Aston Villa in the final of the annual 7s Tournament held in the Asian country.

Youngsters from Arsenal, Celtic, Rangers and a whole host of Asian outfits took part in the tournament and joined Old Trafford's up-and-coming superstars.

Rules state that each team should only have 7 players on the field and are allowed up to 3 substitutes. 16 teams are split into 4 groups (A, B, C, D) and will play each other just once in the group. The two teams with the most points in their group advance into the latter stages. 3 points are given for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.

Ricky Sbraiga's side were paired off with HKFC, Bular Rangers and amateur Dorset side Wimbourne Town.

After beating both Wimbourne Town (2-0) and Bular Rangers (1-0) United have made it through to the quarter-finals and will come up against Kashima Antlers although suffering a minor set-back, drawing with HKFC 1-1.

United then beat Kashima Antlers in the second phase and then went on to beat Celtic 1-0 in the semi-final but lost out to Villa in the final.
