Manchester United skipper Roy Keane and forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were both involved in international action for their respective countries yesterday evening. Keane played his first international game for 2 years since his dispute with former Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthey. Keane played his first international game for 2 years since his dispute with former Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthey but played a full 90 minutes in their 1-0 win over Romania yesterday at Lansdowne Road.

Charlton Athletic captain Matt Holland found the back of the net with just 6 minutes left to seal the victory.

Solskjaer was substituted after the hour mark in Norway’s goalless draw with a very inexperienced but impressive Welsh outfit.

A few Cardiff City players caught the eye of Solskjaer and hinted they’d be good enough for Premiership football or indeed to play for the Red Devils in years to come.

"Gabbidon and James Collins did really well in defence, you can see they are club partners," said Solskjaer

"Giggs told me a few good things about Gabbidon so I wasn't surprised."
