Arsenal's 4-2 victory over Liverpool on Good Friday has basically made it impossible for United to harbour any aspiration of topping the Football League come the end of the season, but with the club receiving a much needed injection of confidence after two pleasing results over Arsenal in two weeks, it is vital the team keep going in the league until the end of the season, not letting the team get distracted by May's F.A Cup final against Millwall.

With Chelsea sitting eight points ahead of us in second place, finishing in third looks most likely for the Red Devils. Chelsea still have to visit Old Trafford, and with Claudio Ranieri's side having one eye on the European Cup, United won't have given up on claiming the runners-up spot. However, with Chelsea still in with a slight chance of lifting their first Premiership crown, United have little in the way of motivation of climbing the league in the closing stages.

Tomorrow's opponents on the other hand still have one hell of a lot to play for in the Premiership. Birmingham currently lay sixth in the table, and some impressive results of late have left their supporters dreaming of grabbing the last Champions League qualification slot come the end of the season. After a slow start, ex-United star Steve Bruce has done a tremendous job in the hot set at Birmingham, and the future certainly looks bright for the club. 

United will be without Brazilian World Cup winner Kleberson and Ruud van Nistelrooy who are both suffering from knee injuries. Frenchman Louis Saha is a doubt for the game so David Bellion and Diego Forlan are likely to start upfront. Roy Carroll is likely to keep his place in-between the sticks ahead of Tim Howard.

The Blues will have to see the match through without duo Darren Purse and David Dunn. Purse has an ankle injury that will see him out of the game and Dunn has been out for 2 months with a bad hamstring injury.

Sir Alex Ferguson believes that this fixture won't be easy for his side and claims that Birmingham play like their manager: ""Birmingham play like their manager. They are determined, committed and honest and have had a great season." he said.

"Without doubt they still have a chance of finishing fourth, even if Liverpool and Newcastle are just starting to draw ahead of them.

"There are some teams in the Premiership who you know exactly what you will get from them and Birmingham are one of those sides. They won't change their approach tomorrow and we are in for a difficult time.
