Manchester United youngster Matthew Williams has joined Second Division outfit Notts County on-loan for a month. The 20-year-old striker is rated very highly at Old Trafford, and the move will give the Welshman some invaluable first-team experience.

Manchester United youngster Matthew Williams has signed for Division Two strugglers Notts County on-loan for one month.

The Welsh striker is regarded as one of the brightest prospects the club has, but at 20-years-old he is not getting the opportunities in the first-team that a player at such an age needs, meaning the move to Meadow Lane will give him invaluable experience.

"Matt is not a target man, he is a good footballer. He can play." said Notts County boss Gary Mills

"Obviously, coming from Manchester United, he is going to have some quality.

"We've added to the squad and there could be more to come."

The signings is the second loan move Notts County have made recently, with former Liverpool and current Sky Blues 'keeper Pegguy Arphexad also joining the Football League's oldest club on loan. County are currently sitting in the Second Division relegation zone, so Williams will have pressure on him to score goals as Gary Mills' club look to get themselves out of the dreaded bottom four.
