The Norwegian international has had a season dogged with injuries, and made his first appearance as a substitute since September in United's 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Saturday. The signing of Louis Saha means Solskjaer faces tough competition to get much first-team football for the rest of the season, and there is also opposition from Cristiano Ronaldo and Darren Fletcher for his other favoured role on the right flank. However, Solskjaer is loved for his loyalty to United and will happy to fight for his first-team place at Old Trafford.

Glasgow Rangers have had a very disappointing season, and with the Scottish Premiership title looking almost certain to be heading back to Parkhead at the end of the season, Alex McCleish's side have only the Scottish Cup left as hopes of some silverware this campaign. Following their superb domestic treble success of last season, much was expected of the Bears but the Glaswegian outfit have failed to deliver with their European Cup campaign ending at the first hurdle, with United taking 6 points off them in two memorable group matches.

Supporters of the Old Firm club want a new striker brought to the club with Rangers' showing a lack of firepower up front so far this season. Stefan Iverson is another name who has been linked with a move to Scotland, but 'Gers fans would surely prefer to have Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pulling on the famous blue shirt.

The rumours are mainly only doing the rounds through fan forums, and I doubt there is much truth in them. United would surely want a fee of quite a sum for a player such a Solskjaer and with much-publicised financial troubles going on at Ibrox, Rangers probably do not have the money to purchase the versatile forward. There have also been whispers of a possible loan move which sound more accurate, and with Sir Alex Ferguson's' links with Rangers, you'd imagine such a move, which would benefit both parties, is possible. The 30-year-old is also a massive fan favourite, and many United fans would not be happy to see Ole head north of the border.
