Manchester United take on Middlesbrough at Old Trafford this evening, with Sir Alex Ferguson surely desperate to improve the defence of the Red Devils that has leaked five goals in the last two Premiership matches.

United squeezed past Steve McClaren's outfit 1-0 at the Riverside in late December with a Quinton Fortune 14th minute deflected goal.

'Boro are currently lying only 7 points off the Premiership trap-door in 13th place just above the likes of David Moyes' Everton, Blackburn and United's bitter rivals Man City.

United welcome back Norwegian forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from injury and its quite likely to earn himself a place on the United bench. Phil Neville is also back for United after family matters.

Michael Ricketts,  Ugo Ehiogu, George Boateng and former United youngster Jonathan Greening will all be miss out on the chance to play United in this fixture due to injury.

One to Watch - Gareth Southgate
United have been heavily linked with the former England international in recent months because off his superb solid displays at the back.

Southgate will look to keep his defence well organized against the likes of Ronaldo, Saha, Forlan and van Nistelrooy.
