Everton Fans Complain Against United Players
A number of Everton supporters have lodged complaints against Manchester United players, claiming they were "verbally abused" as the Red Devils celebrated the last gasp winning goal at Goodison Park.

Personally I think the claims are ridiculous. Everton fans, and scousers in general, are known for giving masses of stick to opposing players but when players celebrate a goal to win a classic Premiership encounter they lodge needless complaints.

"Everton fans have complained to the Police about the behaviour of Manchester United players as they celebrated their winning goal." said Everton spokesman Ian Ross.

The Football Association are considering whether or not to investigate the claims. Should an enquiry be made several United players could face disciplinary action of either a ban or fine. The Merseyside police have said they will not take any further action, and will leave any more proceedings to the Football Association.

In a separate incident during the game, an home fan tried to attack Cristiano Ronaldo after he was brought down close to the far touchline shortly before setting-up the seventh goal of the game.
