Real Betis wonderkid Joaquin has denied that Manchester United have made any sort of contact towards Betis about being interested in him.

The Spanish papers have been full of speculation about Sir Alex making a move for the Spanish wonderkid Joaquin, 22, and insisted his future was at Betis by extending his contract. 

"I have an extended contract until at least 2008 and it all depends completely on my club." said the Spaniard.

"At the moment I am only thinking about doing my best for Betis and going with Spain to Euro 2004 in Portugal."

"I have had no offer from United and nobody from the club has spoken to me."

The attacking midfielder claims said that José Antonio Reyes' move to Arsenal is the reason why people and the press are questioning his future.

"These rumours are down to the Reyes effect. Us Seville-born players are very popular in England," Joaquin quipped.

Joaquin has been dubbed as 'the most exciting talent in Spain' recently and has been incredibly impressive in this year's La Liga championship.
