No, it's not a shock at the polls for Michael Howard's Conservative party, but a landslide ManUtdWeb election victory for Tim Howard! The big American has impressed many supporters with the start he has had to life at Old Trafford.

Tim Howard cruised to victory in the recent ManUtdWeb poll, with 81% of votes going to the America 'keeper as best Manchester United signing so far this season.

The result is certainly a fair one, with the former Metrostars shot stopper having a great start to life at Old Trafford. The US international has made the United number one spot his with a series of commanding displays, which has earned him praise from former United star Peter Schmeichel.

In second place was teenage sensation Cristiano Ronaldo who accumulated 12% of the 717 votes cast. Ronaldo arrived on the scene with a bang, with his fancy tricks and skills dazzling the Old Trafford crowd as the Portuguese winger made his debut as a substitute against Bolton Wanderers. However, the youngster has been labelled a 'one trick pony' by many supporters, and will certainly have to improve on his game if he is to hold down a regular place in the United line-up.

The rest of the votes saw Kleberson accumulate 3%, and David Bellion and Eric Djemba-Djemba have 2% of votes cast each. All three players have come under criticism to the mixed start they have made at Old Trafford, but all our young talent and do have potential to succeed at the club if they progress as Sir Alex Ferguson hopes.

Since the votes were cast, Louis Saha has been added to the Manchester United squad, with a £12.8million move from Chris Coleman's Fulham.
