Bellion signs for United

Manchester United have completed their first signing of the summer, with David Bellion finally making his move to Old Trafford.

Bellion’s Sunderland contract expired on Monday, but United will have to pay compensation for the French powerhouse because he is under 23 years of age.

Still, the young Frenchman is thought to be a great acquisition by Ferguson, with his deadly pace one of the reasons behind the transfer.

Bellion is delighted that he has finally completed the move, after months of speculation surrounding the deal with Manchester.

United had two bids rejected by the Black Cats in January, and have had to wait until the wingers contract ended before discussing personal terms.

"I am really happy and can't wait for the start of the season. I am looking forward to training next week and being a Manchester United player. It’s fantastic," said the 20-year-old.

Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that Bellion can fulfil his potential at United.

"We are delighted he has chosen Manchester United. He is a young player with great potential who will fit into the club's future plans very well," said Sir Alex.
