Club Confirm Becks Interest

The England skipper's future at Old Trafford has been in doubt for several months with the midfielder being persistently linked with a move abroad. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Champions League Winners, AC Milan are all believed to be interested in obtaining the players signature.

The recent dressing room scuffle between Sir Alex Ferguson and Beckham, which saw Ferguson 'accidentally' kick a football boot at Beckham's face causing him to have several stitches, has raised major questions over the relationship between the player and manager.

The possible signing of Ronaldinho has also fuelled talks over whether Beckham would fit into Ferguson's plans next season.

The club's statement read: "Manchester United can confirm that clubs from Italy and Spain have expressed a firm interest in signing David Beckham.

"David's advisers, SFX, have also been approached by clubs independently and we are in regular and close contact with them regarding the status of those discussions, which are ongoing.

"David has been kept informed while on holiday."

Beckham has kept quiet about the speculation, but it is believed that if an offer was excepted by Manchester United, he would be happy to leave the club.
