Manchester United made it six games unbeaten with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Watford at Old Trafford on Sunday, as Bruno Fernandes scored his first goal for the club from the penalty spot.
The Premier League table is looking far more rosy for United after back-to-back league wins and clean sheets against London opposition - Chelsea, and now Watford.
Fernandes continued his impressive start to life at Old Trafford with the opening goal of the game from the penalty spot, slotting passed former Red Devils stopper Ben Foster moments before the interval.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, nevertheless, had the Video Assistant Referee to thank for maintaining their lead - after a Troy Deeney goal was ruled out for handball in the build-up.
United, bouyed by the VAR decision, largely controlled proceedings and fine goals from Anthony Martial and youngster Mason Greenwood secured a largely emphatic win, to heap more misery on the relegation-threatened Hornets.
Victory lifts United to fifth in the table, which - if Manchester City's ban from Europe's elite is upheld - would be enough to sneak the Red Devils into the continent's premier cup competition. Following a solid and competitive score draw in Brugge, and with the FA Cup dream still alive, there is still plenty to play for this season for United.
