United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has called time on a seven-year fued with the British Broadcasting Corporation. In 2004, the broadcaster made allegations against his son Jason in a television documentary which resulted in the former Aberdeen manager refusing to appear on BBC programmes.

United's veteran boss has ended his fued with the BBC and will now appear for interviews on programmes such as Match of the Day.

The Red Devils management have been represented by the likes of assistant boss Mike Phelan on BBC broadcasts.

Fergie has refused to conduct interviews with the BBC since a Panorama documentary made allegations against his football agent son Jason.

Since 2004, the only interviews Ferguson has given to the BBC were for tributes to the likes of Sir Bobby Charlton and Ryan Giggs.

By refusing to conduct interviews, he was breaking the Premier League's media regulations.

A joint statement read that the two parties have "decided to put behind them their difficulties".
