Aston Villa have tabled a £3.5million bid for Red Devils midfielder Darron Gibson, according to the Daily Mail. The newspaper reports that the Irish player is eager to leave Old Trafford if first-team football with a top-flight club is on offer.
Many United fans thought Gibson would be presented with numerous chances to impress in midfield this season following the retirement of Paul Scholes.
However, Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson has hinted that young duo Tom Cleverley and Paul Pogba could be more likely to see regular first-team football this season.
The Daily Mail claims that Aston Villa have tabled a £3.5million bid to try and lure Gibson away from Old Trafford and to the Midlands.
Gibson is yet to make a senior appearance for United this season, though he did make twenty club appearances last season and scored two goals.
The 23-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Sunderland last month, but discussions with the Black Cats collapsed.
