As Manchester United aim to topple Chelsea's stronghold on the Premiership crown, supporters are beginning to raise concerns over the clubs lack of activity on the transfer market. However, with Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm, messageboard regular 'EmptyRed' has urged fans not to panic!

With the World Cup over, it’s only natural that the focus turns to our lack of activity on the transfer market. Looking at many forums, many Man Utd fans are gloomy about our alleged prospects. But all I will say is get real, will you? Many fans seem to think if we do not buy players within the next week, any signings we do make will struggle to bed into the team. Yet, we all forget that Fergie is a master of pulling off a transfer coup.

Remember at the start of our treble season he bought only two players - Jaap Stam at the end of July and Dwight York halfway through August and we all knew what happened next. No problems with bedding those two into our team.

We have been in this situation before when we lost Hughes, Ince and Kanchelskis and Cantona was banned until mid September. We still went onto win the double.

Fans seem to have forgotten about some of our younger players. David Jones for example was loaned out to Preston North End and then was sent to Holland for the Second Half of the season. He is highly rated. And finally there are still some 40 days before the transfer window closes. So as Corporal Jones used to say "Don't Panic".
