United schoos Cup 2006

The Schools Cup kicked off to day as planned at Espiside football parks in Coatbridge. Eight teams once again competing for for the trophy.

Today's draw brought together the previous two winners of the competition St Margaret's and Chryston along with Airdrie Academy and Rosehall in league A. In League B we had St Ambrose last years Semi finalists and Caldevale last years beaten finalist St Patrick's and Columba.

So two leagues of four competed over three 40 minute matches to see who would meet in the Semi finals next week.

League A kicked of with matches between
Chryston and Rosehall:- Chryston won comfortably.
Airdrie Academy and St Margaret's:- St Margaret's won by one goal in a very close fought match.

Round two saw:- Chryston beating Airdrie Academy again Airdrie Academy lost by just one goal.
St Margaret's beat Rosehall comfortably.

By this stage Chryston and St Margaret's had already qualified for the Semi finals.
The final two matches in the round saw:-
St Margaret's beating Chryston by one goal
Rosehall took all three points when the beat Airdrie Academy by 1 goal.

The final Standing For group A

St Margaret's 9
Chryston 6
Rosehall 3
Airdrie Academy 0

League B
St Ambrose beat Columba comfortably
Caldevale were beaten by St Patrick's in a close match

Round two saw :-
St Ambrose beat St Patrick's in a very close match
Caldervale beat Columba comfortably.

Going in to round three any one of three teams could still make it in to the Semi finals.

St Ambrose finally beat Caldervale in a very close game
St Patrick's beat Columba comfortably.

Final Standing for Group B

St Ambrose 9
St Patrick's 6
Caldervale 3
Columba 0

So on Thursday 30th of March the semi finals to be held at Craigneuk parks Airdrie 6:15pm kick off will be
St Margaret's Vs St Patrick's
Chryston Vs St Ambrose.

Albion Rovers who usually assist us by allowing the Supporters Trust to use Clifton Hill have sent their apologies that we cannot use the park this season, we are great full for their help and the time spent helping the Airdrie Supporters Trust and the Schools Cup Competition.
