Kenny Brannigan comes to Airdrie as a player-coach. He has vast experience particularly in the middle leagues. He has played for several clubs in Scotland, most notably Falkirk and Clydebank.

Although he's no spring chicken, a lot will be expected of this battle hardened central defender. In his long career Brannigan has never shirked a tackle and his experience in Sandy Stewart's new look defence will be crucial. In recent years Brannigan formed a formidable defence at Clydebank alongside Fraser Wishart and Joe McLaughlin during Ian McCall's successful reign there. It can be safely assumed that Brannigan has been influential in attracting several of the former Bankies players to the Excelsior too, and he'll have coaching responsibilities too.
