Airdrie Vs St Mirren Preview (24/9/05)
By Chris Mac
September 23 2005
Last seasons games against St Mirren, gave us a few of the best games witnessed in the Bells First Division, the 3-2 win for Airdrie on the 4th of December was quite simply a cracking match. Will our first match against St Mirren produce the same sort of display?

Sandy Stewart and his team of younglings will be fighting to hold on to our undefeated record, ok it may only be 5 games but it is still something we should be celebrating.
Stephen Docherty makes a come back to this weekends selections, Paul Lovering suffering from a broken toe has resumed light training but will not make the match.
Some thoughts, David Dunn has moved in to the left back position a position he played in once upon a time, before he was moved in to his natural mid-field position. He has gone back and shown that he can do a job when called on.
Should we be hoping that St Mirren are suffering from a head ache from their defeat in the CIS cup, or does that show that we are afraid of them? |

Opponents News: - St Mirren |

Gus McPherson has injury worries to contend with before tomorrows game, Brian McGinty, Mark Reilly, Ryan McCay and goalkeeper Craig Hinchcliffe are all ruled out.
Both managers are hoping to continue their rise in the first division and St Mirren with all their close season signings will be expecting to be at the top of the league challenging.
Can Airdrie put a dent in their hopes? |

Ref Review: - John Underhil |
Straight from the Shire Mr Underhill takes charge of our game against St Mirren, his record below speaks for it's self. 9 games 19 yellow card and 2 red cards averaging over two cards a game does not make for good reading. Underhill took charge of an Airdrie game back in March 2004, we beat Alloa 2-1 in that game and had Kevin Christie booked.
This Season Record: -Games: 9 Yellow Cards: 19 Red Cards: 2 Last Seasons Record: -Games: 27 Yellow Cards: 53 Red Cards: 5 |

We need to win our home games to stand a chance of progressing this season, so I have to go for a 2 - 1 to the Diamonds. | |
