Airdrie United are finally raring to go for a fresh new beginning as the new club. There will be a new name, new badge, a new board and a new manager, but the diamond will still be red and we'll be playing at the Excelsior so it's all systems GO!

We'll be continuing to run the Stomp if we have the support of our readers and as usual we'll have match reports, a constant barrage of views and features on all matters Airdrie. During the summer months I've been surprised by the volume of readers and message board users, but currently we are the second biggest site on the Sportsnetwork network with over 50,000 page impressions in the first ten days of July.

We'll be trying to get news of preseason friendlies, new players, season tickets, strips, etc. as soon as information becomes available. We'll be carrying information on AISA for people wanting to travel on the buses with us this season. Anyone interested in information on that can email me at gordonfromairdrie@hotmail.com in the meantime.

Lastly all I can say is many thanks to the efforts of Jim, Walter and their teams for fighting so hard. Remember too that the passion, commitment and contribution of the fans over the last three years kept the thing alive too and made Airdrie something worth fighting for. The fans too can still play a significant part in the regeneration of Airdrie starting with encouraging lapsed fans and potentional new fans to come along and swell the numbers. Wouldn't it be great to regularly get over 2000 fans to the home games?
