By Chris Mac
November 5 2004

Airdrie travel to Palmerston Park hoping to stop Queen of the South making it three wins out of three. The well organised team has managed to catch us on the break and we have suffered for it.

Sandy Stewart

Sandy has said in the press that we have a few doubts for tomorrow games, but nothing more than a few niggles that could be overcome. Our biggest doubt seems to be Mark McGeown who is rated 50/50 with a back injury according to reports on Teletext and the Stomp. other doubts will be Alan Gows continuing thigh problems, although making it through a full 90 minutes in a reserve game. Alan McManus still recovering from his bout of the flu a few weeks ago.

No Matter what many fans think it is business as usual at he club and the departure of Kenny Black can only be seen as a positive step for him. How it effects Airdrie is still to be seen and personally I think Owen will step in on a temporary basis. Whether Coyle can move in to the player/assistant  manager job on a permanent basis may come down to Dundee United, I'm sure he is still contracted to them as youth coach but still await confirmation on his status.

We wish Kenny Black good Luck and ask that he sends some cheep loan defenders our way. Thank you for your time at the club and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we have.

Queen of the South

Were not the only ones that have goal keeping problems though, Craig Samson has been recalled to Kilmarnock and as such his loan deal wit Ian Scott's Queen of the South has ended. Not only that the only keeper Queens have is injured and doesn't expect to be fit to play tomorrow.

Other injury problems for Queen of the South Stephen Payne is out with the flu  and the big defender  Brian Reid is carrying a knee injury Willie Gibson has tonsillitis, David McNiven is recovering from flu and although David Craig is back in training he's struggling to be match fit.

Queens do have a few additions to the squad Eric Paton and Brian McLaughlin look like they will return. Ian Scott is hoping he can get a few others back before the match but is very doubtful

 Ref Review

Willie Young

Games: 12 Yellow Cards: 13 Red Cards: 2

We all know him some think he is a decent ref others can't stand him but he seems to have been around forever. We haven't had the honour this season but I think we will remember the last time we saw him. It was a 2-0 at home over Morton on the last day of season 2003-2004. There week no Airdrie bookings that day and and Morton received 3 yellow cards.

 Prediction

Sandy is going to bring home a victory and a decent one at that 2-0 to the Diamonds over a team who has beaten us twice this seson.
