Inverurie Loko Works- V- Airdrie Preview

Having looked around a few different message boards, other teams seem to have more hope that Airdrie will survive the second round of the cup, than the Airdrie fans do.

A lot of fans seem to have lost faith in Sandy but not being one of them I can see a good victory for us, no noises have been made from the board so for all those doubters, get behind the bloody team.

Sandy takes a less than full strength squad up north, David Dunn is doubtful due to an ankle injury and Neil McGowan his broken the booking thresh hold and is suspended.

The biggest fear for Airdrie as always is going to be the pace of the attack and from all accounts Inverurie have a lot of pace in attack. John Gardiners team are sitting forth in the Highland league and if you consider how well Inverness, Ross County and to a smaller degree Peterhead have done since being elected into the football league it will be no surprise that Inverurie are rated as a half decent Junior team.

However as this is Inveruries first adventure in the Scottish Cup nerves will be wearing a bit thin.

So Sandy no pressure but we need a good display, as mentioned on the message board earlier Owen Coyle has scored six against Inverurie in a pre-season match earlier this year so with this and the fact Inverurie have been closely watched  I am hoping for a good strong display from the Diamonds.
