Will Airdrie still be around in two weeks

Airdrie Football and Athletic club was officially removed from the Scottish Football League today. But the announcement has led to a lifeline being opened for the supporters of the Lanarkshire team. As expected the SFL have offically announced that Airdrie are no-longer a member of the Scottish Football League and there removal has lead to a life line being given to Falkirk and Stenhousemuir who will no longer face relegation from thier respective leagues.

However the Fans of Airdrie have been given a life line by a consortium lead by Jim Ballantyne and Walter Spiers who hope to win a place for a new team possibly playing out of Albion Rovers or Clydes ground.

The Bid must be handed in to the SFL within two weeks, according to an announcement on todays radio, but when a final decision will be made is anyones guess.

So as Airdrie Fans United lets get behind this bid and make sure football continues in Airdrie
